This school photograph was taken in October 1951, on the school's tennis court, and I was in my second year. That’s me, in the light jacket, by the way, seventh boy in from the right hand end, in the fifth row back from the front.
I did have a school uniform so why I',m not wearing it, I have no idea. As a matter of interest there is a high percentage of pupils not wearing their uniform - and we keep telling the younger generation (is it me or are they increasing in number each year?), "In our day, we had to wear our school uniform - not like today when you're allowed to dress up in any old rubbish - and a right scruffy lot you look too".
I remember some of the others in the photograph while many I know by sight but can bring no name to mind. Taking just the boys, counting from the right hand end, and moving left: -
