Title

023 - Crime & Policing Hooe

INTRODUCTION

I hope that any descendants of those I mention will forgive me but, though I did hesitate to give the names of the people involved, I thought that these were, after all, old newspaper reports, open for all to read at the time with the last being printed in the early 1940s and available for public view. There was no major crime and, if I hadn′t included the names of the accused and the victims, the reports would have been rather meaningless.

I′ve split this section up into smaller sections, each with a contents page, according to the decade in which the crime happened. Some of the reports are long and some short but all are of interest (well, I think so!) and I, also, hope that everyone who reads these will find them so. There′s a "General Extracts" section for those articles, from the newspapers, whose date, for some reason, is unknown or it was printed before 1891, which is the start of my first decade section.
